As of Wednesday (3/11/2020), regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Precautions, we are not allowing any visitors into the facility until further notice.  We are following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC 24/7: Saving Lives, Protecting People Guidelines) Precautions.  Activities have been cancelled until further notice, by order of the Director of Nursing, Administrator, Medical Doctor, and the CDC.

We understand and know how difficult this is, but please remember, that we are doing our best to protect the health and well-being of our residents and tenants, your loved ones.  We will keep you posted of any further changes.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  We appreciate your cooperation with this.  Thank You!

In-house Activities resumed as able, but residents and tenants are limited to individualized Activities as of (2/16/2020).  We want to thank all our dedicated staff for caring for all the residents and tenants.  And, we want to thank all our dedicated volunteers, our community, schools and area churches, who were planning to visit and assist with Activities during this time.  We look forward to seeing you all again in the future, as God may Bless.

Toni Muller (volunteer) from the New Children’s Library Outreach Department of the Bellevue Public Library for hosting a presentation on fishing and discussing it and related topics with the tenants, and for handing out fruit to those in attendance at SVAL during the afternoon on Thursday.

Volunteers Jim Hollensbe (High School Social Studies) and the Sociology Classes of/from Marquette Catholic School for hosting the “Elderhostel Class” presentation, regarding the country, industry, people and customs of Germany, to/for/with the residents/tenants at MVCC/SVAL during the afternoon on Monday.  (A German dance by the school staff and senior students was also presented.  The presentation was informative and well-done, engaging the residents, tenants, and guests.  This event is/was part of an Intergenerational Outreach Program of Marquette Catholic School and Librarian Gloria Petesch.)  Thanks again to everyone involved in making this event possible.

Volunteers Jim Hollensbe (High School Social Studies) and the Sociology Classes of/from Marquette Catholic School for hosting the “Road Scholar Class” presentation, regarding the country, States, industry, people and customs of the United States of America (USA) to/for/with the residents/tenants at MVCC/SVAL during the afternoon on Monday.  (Each student chose one of the 50 states and gave a description of the state, presented a travelogue with explanations of where to stay, events happenings, and best buys for the interested traveler by presenting a talk and visuals, pictures/photos on paper or laptop screen, of that particular area of the State.  The presentation was informative and well-done, engaging the residents, tenants, and guests.  This event is/was part of an Intergenerational Outreach Program of Marquette Catholic School and Librarian Gloria Petesch.)  Thanks again to everyone involved in making this event possible.

Kenneth Kilburg (volunteer) for hosting “Kenny’s Visits”, visiting the residents/tenants at MVCC/SVAL during the morning on two Tuesdays; and for hosting Men’s Club at MVCC for/with the men on three Fridays.

Dave Eischeid and Sue & Earl Sawvel (volunteers) for hosting “Artwork with Dave, Sue and Earl” (artwork class) at MVCC during the morning on two Thursdays and helping our resident/tenant art students unlock their art talents.  The Bellevue Arts Council for sponsoring this Painting Class.

Jason & Carrie Rowan (volunteers) for hosting “Pet Therapy with K-9 Comfort”, sharing a very obedient and friendly female “Labradoodle” dog named “Lizzy” with the residents/tenants during the afternoon on Tuesday.  [Lizzy is a “Therapy Dog in training” from Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory in Columbia, Missouri.  Jason Rowan is an Animal Behavior College (ABC) certified dog trainer with K-9 Comfort in Bellevue, Iowa.]

Chef Chad (Culinary Manager) for preparing the foods for the “Mardi Gras Celebration” with Jambalaya and King Cake for the tenants at the SVAL at noontime on Tuesday.  Chef Chad and the Dietary staff for providing the assorted Mardi Gras cookies and beverages for the residents and tenants during the afternoon on this “Fat Tuesday”.  Mary Jo Konrardy (staff) for her assistance in this “Mardi Gras Party” celebration with hats and masks, beads, etc. during this noontime Activity event on Tuesday.  Amy Neblung-Roth (staff) for her assistance in Activities during this event celebration.

Chef Chad (Culinary Manager) for hosting an “Irish Meal with Chef Chad” during noontime on Tuesday, St. Patrick’s Day, March 24, 2020.  (The residents/tenants were served Corned Beef and Cabbage for Lunch and non-alcoholic Green Beer; compliments to Chef Chad.
