As of Wednesday (3/11/2020), regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19, Wuhan China Virus) Precautions, we are not allowing any visitors into the facility until further notice.  We are following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC 24/7: Saving Lives, Protecting People Guidelines) Precautions.  Activities have been cancelled until further notice, by order of the Director of Nursing, Administrator, Medical Doctor, and the CDC.

We understand and know how difficult this is, but please remember, that we are doing our best to protect the health and well-being of our residents and tenants, your loved ones.  We will keep you posted of any further changes.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  We appreciate your cooperation with this.  Thank You!

In-house Individualized Activities with the residents and tenants resume, as able.  We want to thank all our dedicated staff for caring for all the residents and tenants.  And, we want to thank all our dedicated volunteers, our community, our schools and area churches, who were planning to visit and assist with Activities this past week.  We look forward to seeing you all again in the future, as God May Bless.

Residents, tenants, and their families were/are encouraged to connect with their loved ones via phone calls and/or video chats that are available all day.

Individualized in-room daily Catholic Services & Rosary prayers were held on the local cable Channel-32 for the Catholics during the past five weeks and on Sundays.

Individualized in-room Lutheran Service on local cable Channel-26 was held for the Lutherans on Sundays.

Individualized in-room “Exercises” were held with the residents during the past five weeks.

Individualized in-room “Manicures” were held for the residents at Mill Valley Care Center (MVCC) and the tenants at Sunrise Villa Assisted Living (SVAL) during the past five weeks.

Individualized “Games of Choice” were available for the residents and tenants during the afternoon, Monday – Thursday.

The residents and tenants were treated with ice cream bars, lemonade, cookies, popsicles, and other food treat “goodies” during the various fun activities throughout the past five weeks.

National Certified Nursing Assistants Week 2020 (June 18-24, 2020) provided an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the important work of the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).  A box of food treats or “goodies” was presented to Kim Reeg (RN, Director of Nursing) during the mid-morning on Wednesday to distribute among the CNA staff to thank them for their good works.

A special Father’s Day Meal and Appreciation food treats or “goodies” were served at noontime for/to the residents and tenants.

We salute the men and women in/of our military and law enforcement services for helping to protect our freedoms/liberties on this Independence Day.

Chef Chad for hosting the “Happy Hour” during the afternoon on Fridays, serving: Ice Cream Bars, Ice Cream Sandwiches, Popsicles, “Red, White, & Blue Cookies and/or Cupcakes” on Independence Day, Watermelon Slices and Popsicles; while visiting “room to room” with the residents and tenants.

Chef Chad for hosting “Treat with Chef Chad” during the afternoon on Mondays, serving:
Ice Cream Bars, Ice Cream Sandwiches, Popsicles, malted milkshakes, chocolate M&M cookies, caramel apple cookies; while visiting “room to room” with the residents and tenants.

Theresa Schwager (staff) for assisting Activities with “Connecting with the families” and “Music” during the afternoon on Thursday and Saturday, and during the evening on Sunday and Thursday.

Theresa Schwager (staff) for assisting Activities with “Individualized Outside Porch” (using appropriate social distancing) during the afternoon on two Thursdays and throughout those weeks.

Kristina Ernst and Mary Jo Konrardy (staff at SVAL) for their assistance in Activities for the past five weeks.

Kayla Griebel (staff at SVAL) for her assistance in Activities for three weeks.

Shelia Hargrave (The Book Worm, Bellevue, Iowa) for the many assorted books for the residents and tenants to enjoy.

Anonymous volunteers who were kind enough to start sending out cards to our residents / tenants, and thereby became instant “Pen-Pals” with us.

Kenny Kilburg (volunteer) for his donation of 2 Wooden Activity Boards specially handcrafted for the residents and tenants to enjoy.

Family of Arnie J. for their donations of items, face masks, Easy to Read Booklets of Word Puzzles and booklet of Crossword Challenge, 1 hand Crochet and 2 handsewn Lap-Quilts.
