February is American Heart Month.  Every year more than 600,000 Americans die from heart disease.  Things that increase your risk of heart disease include: having high cholesterol, having high blood pressure, if you smoke, having diabetes and excess alcohol use.  You can take an active role in reducing your risk by eating a healthy diet, engaging in physical activity, and managing your cholesterol, diabetes, and blood pressure.
