Ray & Doris Theisen (volunteers) for hosting the game of “Euchre” at the Mill Valley Care Center (MVCC) during the morning on Friday.

Ray & Doris Theisen for hosting “Music with Ray & Doris” for/with the tenants [at the Sunrise Villa Assisted Living (SVAL)] and the residents (at the MVCC) during the noontime on Friday, and the evening-time on one Monday, four Tuesdays, and one Wednesday.

Jerzie Petersen (Dietary Supervisor) and the Dietary Department staff for their assistance with Activities for/with the residents and tenants during the afternoon on four Fridays.

Dale Meier (volunteer) and Marlyce Tebbe (tenant, volunteer) for hosting the game of “Dominoes” during the afternoon on Thursday and Friday.  The Dietary Department staff for hosting “Treats with Dietary”, serving “soft serve” ice cream desserts after the games.

Jerzie Petersen (Dietary Supervisor) and the Dietary Department staff for their assistance with Activities, hosting “Beverage of the Week with Dietary”, held for/with the residents (at the MVCC) during the afternoon on three Mondays.

Barb Ries (volunteer) for assisting Activities in disassembling the Christmas tree (in the front dining room) and placing all the Christmas decorations into storage, assisting Atlanta Wilson (staff) and Joy M. (staff) during the afternoon on Monday.  John Rubel (Maintenance staff) for assisting Activities and storing the Christmas items (decorations/tree).

Marlyce Tebbe (tenant, volunteer) for leading the Rosary prayers (at the SVAL) for the Catholic tenants during the past four weeks.

Claire and Ryan Dempewolf (young volunteers) for playing the piano with the tenants (at the SVAL) and then with the residents (at the MVCC) during the noontime on Tuesday.  Diane Dempewolf (staff, volunteer) for arranging and coordinating the piano recital with Claire & Ryan.  (Claire & Ryan are Diane’s niece & nephew.)

Chef Kevin Hebert (Executive Chef, Healthcare of Iowa) for visiting MVCC/SVAL and hosting a live cooking demonstration (activity) in front of an involved audience of residents, tenants, family members, staff, volunteers, and visitors during the afternoon (at the MVCC) on Tuesday.

David Eischeid (volunteer art instructor) with Mary Kubik (volunteer) for visiting and hosting “Artwork with David & Mary” (an artwork class) during the morning on two Wednesdays and helping our small group of resident/tenant art students unlock their art talents.

Susan Cates (RN, Restorative Nurse, volunteer) for hosting “International Mind & Body Wellness Day” with the residents and tenants during the early afternoon on Wednesday with Joy M. (staff).

Robert Gross for assisting the distribution of Communion to the residents (at the MVCC).

Aunika Hager and Arianna Roeder (Bellevue High School Students, volunteers) for assisting Activities, and assisting with the setup/preparation for the Catholic Service and Communion (at the SVAL) for/with the residents during the morning of Thursday.

Sara Kloser, Susan Eversole, Megan Meier, Atlanta Wilson, and others for assisting Activities, hosting a hands-on “Valentine Craft” with the residents during the afternoon on Thursday.

Sheila Hunter for bringing in homemade Happy New Year greeting cards for the residents and tenants; and a basket full of “treats/goodies” for the staff.

Thanks to all the unnamed individuals who communicated [via letters, phone calls, video chats (FaceTime, Facebook, Skype, etc.), outside closed/open window visits, inside visits, etc.] with the residents / tenants to help uplift their days.  Thanks to all the residents, tenants, families, friends, school children and teachers, volunteers, staff (Administrative, Nursing, Dietary, Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance, and Activity-Recreation Departments), Therapy staff (Occupational, Physical, Speech), local area (Bellevue, Maquoketa, Preston, Andrew, St. Donatus, Springbrook, etc.) businesses, churches, organizations, and other unnamed individuals for their kindnesses, assistance, and support with all our activities / events / donations / cards / posters during the past four weeks.
