Ray & Doris Theisen for hosting the game of “Euchre” [as volunteers at the Mill Valley Care Center (MVCC)] during the morning on four Fridays; and hosting “Music with Ray & Doris” for/with the tenants [at the Sunrise Villa Assisted Living (SVAL)] and the residents (at the MVCC) during the noontime on four Fridays, and the evening-time on four Sundays and four Tuesdays.

The American Nurses Association celebrated National Nurses Week 2024 (May 6–12, 2024) with the theme "Nurses Make the Difference" was observed during the week to honor the incredible nurses who embody the spirit of compassion and care in every health care setting, 24/7.  Thanks to all those in the healthcare nursing field, who go “above and beyond” the call of duty.

National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW) (May 12–18, 2024) with the theme "Radiant Memories" was observed during the week to honor the essential role skilled nursing care centers play in providing compassionate care to America's seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Jr. Steines (volunteer) for hosting “Euchre Games” (at the MVCC/SVAL) during the afternoon on four Mondays.

William Blitgen (tenant, volunteer), Clifton Barnhart, Richard Helbing, and Eldora Steines (residents, volunteers) for hosting “Euchre Games” (at the MVCC) during the afternoon on Monday.

The Card Club members and the Sequence game players for sharing their time together with the residents (at the MVCC) during the afternoon on Monday and/or the tenants (at the SVAL) during the afternoon on four Mondays.

Chef Kevin Hebert (Executive Chef, Healthcare of Iowa) for visiting MVCC/SVAL and hosting a live cooking demonstration (activity) in front of an involved audience of residents, tenants, family members, staff, volunteers, and visitors during the midmorning (breakfast at the SVAL) and in the afternoon (at the MVCC) on Tuesday.

Mrs. Kim Moore (Instructor, HS Math, HS Computers & PowerSchool Facilitator, Marquette Catholic School, Bellevue, Iowa) with her students for visiting with the residents (at the MVCC) and the tenants (at the SVAL), bringing and delivering May birthday cards and playing card games of “Euchre” and “Uno” with residents and tenants during the early midmorning on Tuesday.

All those who helped host a “Petting Zoo” for the residents, tenants, visitors, and staff during the midmorning on Wednesday to help us celebrate “National farm Animals Day”.  Mrs. Blair Gerlach [HS Bellevue Future Farmers of America (FFA) Advisor and Agriculture Department Instructor, Bellevue Community High School, Bellevue, Iowa] and her Agriculture FFA Class students: Tate Giesmann, Anderson Griebel, Carter Michels (Helpers), Josh Edwards (brought the Ducks), Mason Holdgrafer (brought the Calves), Garrett Bevan (brought the Horse), and Tony Sprank (brought the Chickens).  The FFA students for providing/transporting their pet animals.  All the FFA students’ parents for their support.

David Eischeid (volunteer art instructor) and Mary Kubik (volunteer) for visiting and hosting “Artwork with David & Mary” (an artwork class) during the morning on Wednesday and helping our small group of resident/tenant art students unlock their art talents.  Laurie Anderson (volunteer) for assisting the artwork class.

Rick Casel (Bellevue Community HS/MS MDSCI & At-Risk Instructor) and Tami Purvis (Bellevue Community HS/MS Special Education Associate), and their 7th Grade Students for hosting games with and reading to the residents during the midmorning on Wednesday.
