Memorial Day is a day to honor all the Americans who have died in military service.  We honor and give thanks all our American soldiers, men and women of the military of the past & present.  “The patriot’s blood is the seed of Freedom’s tree.” - Thomas Campbell.  Thanks to all the American veterans of the military.

Thanks to the volunteers of the Bellevue American Legion Post #273 Revere Color Guard and Auxiliary:  Larry Lampe, Roger Michels, Stan Daniels, Chuck Melton, Dale Ernst, Dick Zeimet, Linda Schlecter, Maryetta Lampe, John Gerbart, and Tyler Peters for presenting their Memorial Day Program with singing “God Bless America and My Country” along with meeting and visiting with our own veterans:  Allen Kilburg, Raymond Lawson, Louis Bernhard, Eldon Weis, Barbara Cooper, James Cloos, Robert Flemming, and Lloyd Kilburg from Mill Valley Care Center (MVCC) and Sunrise Villa Assisted Living (SVAL) on Monday morning.  Thanks to all the staff involved in making this event a memorable and successful one!

The 30+ students from St. Joe’s Catholic Pre-school and Kindergarten with Mrs. Jessica Medinger (Preschool Teacher) and Mrs. Jill Nolting (Para-Professional Preschool Teacher), and Mrs. Tricia Kilburg (Kindergarten Teacher) for their visit, singing, reading stories, and “creating watercolor greeting cards” for the residents/tenants and spending “one on one” time with the residents/tenants of MVCC/SVAL during the mid-morning on Friday.  (The students did a wonderful display of engaging themselves with the residents and tenants; leaving behind a lot of smiles, soft laughter and “sunshine”.)

Ealana Roling (Dietary Supervisor), Erma Naeve (Dietary staff), the Dietary staff for assisting with the “Live Soul Fully” theme with Activities for/with the residents and tenants to enjoy and celebrate “National Skilled Nursing Care Week” during the entire week of (May 12-18).  Among the many food items served were fresh homemade assorted pizzas and “Marble Cake”.

National Nursing Assistants Week (NNAW) (June 13-20, 2019) honors Certified Nurses’ Aides (CNAs).  We celebrated NNAW by thanking and presenting gifts or tokens of appreciation to our dedicated CNAs this week.
