Job Details

Mill Valley Care Center is looking for an experienced Director of Nursing to organize and oversee all nursing operations of our nursing home. The ideal candidate will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies. A successful Director of Nursing should have once been a hard-working and compassionate registered nurse who steadily developed their managerial and administrative skills. Responsibilities

•    Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing personnel (LPN's, CNA's, etc.)
•    Direct, evaluate, and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary 
•    Evaluate resident care as related to individualized resident needs, family involvement, and the physician's plan of care for the resident
•    Organize and coordinate admissions
•    Conduct daily resident rounds and report problems to the Administrator
•    Assess resident needs and make recommendations for special rehabilitative programs
•    Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
•    Manage record-keeping procedures
•    Utilize a coordinated process to monitor and reduce the risk of nosocomial infections in residents and staff
•    Participate in Quality Improvement Program activities
•    Coordinate and conduct care conferences

Skills

•    Proven experience as a director of nursing/ health services coordinator
•    Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in assisted living and long term healthcare
•    Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
•    Great communication and soft skills
•    Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
•    Aptitude in problem-solving
•    Enthusiasm for contributing to a healthy work environment
•    Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve common goals

Requirements
