Director of Nursing- Mill Valley

Mill Valley Care Center is looking for an experienced Director of Nursing to organize and oversee all nursing operations of our Skilled Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies. A successful Director of Nursing should have once been a hard-working and compassionate registered nurse who steadily developed their managerial and administrative skills. The goal is to foster an excellent environment that will support everyone including the residents, their families, and all staff.

Responsibilities

•    Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing personnel (LPN's, CNA's, etc.)
•    Direct, evaluate, and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary 
•    Evaluate resident care as related to individualized resident needs, family involvement, and the physician's plan of care for the resident
•    Organize and coordinate admissions
•    Conduct daily resident rounds and report problems to the Community Director
•    Assess resident needs and make recommendations for special rehabilitative programs
•    Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
•    Manage record-keeping procedures
•    Utilize a coordinated process to monitor and reduce the risk of nosocomial infections in residents and staff
•    Participate in Quality Improvement Program activities
•    Coordinate and conduct care conferences

Skills

•    Proven experience as a director of nursing/ Health Services Coordinator
•    Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in long-term healthcare
•    Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
•    Great communication and soft skills
•    Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
•    Aptitude in problem-solving
•    Enthusiasm for contributing to a healthy work environment
•    Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve common goals
•    Valid RN licensure and CPR certification
